Management Team

The core management team includes Don Piper, Jeff Chandler, Heath Christopher, Steve Doherty & Walter Addison. Don, Jeff, Heath & Steve are joint owners of G2. The company was formed in 1990 to serve the Southeast territory as a technical sales entity.

Don Piper, President/Partner: has over 29 years experience & knowledge of the electronics industry. Prior to joining G2, Don had been with AMD for 15 years, where he held positions in Sales & Sales Management. During Don’s tenure with AMD, he served as the World Wide IBM Account Manager, Regional Sales Manager, District Manager, Distribution Sales Manager & Field Sales Engineer.
Don is experienced in managing global accounts through the development of sales teams & strategies to drive targeted designs & penetration for G2’s principals. This experience base provides an expansive knowledge of the multiple facets associated with technology design, sales, customer support & business/personnel management.

Jeff Chandler, VP/CFO/Partner: has over 24 years’ experience & knowledge of the electronics industry. Prior to his current role at G2, Jeff was the President of two start-up companies selling RAID Storage Systems to IBM & Dell. Jeff had also worked with G2 earlier in his career initially as a Field Sales Engineer for the Carolinas & then as the IBM Major Account Manager growing sales at IBM to an excess of $160M. Prior to joining G2, Jeff worked at Nortel Networks in DMS-10 Hardware Development & Schneider Electric in Industrial Controls. He also completed his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering & was a research assistant in the PhD program at North Carolina State University. Jeff is a Carolina native & has an expansive knowledge of the industries located within this region. His multiple years of success with IBM, Lenovo, Cisco & Nortel provide a strong position as an effective leader of G2’s Carolina operations.

Heath Christopher, VP/Partner
: has over 20 years experience & knowledge of the electronics industry. Prior to Heath’s current role as Territory Director at G2, Heath was Technical Sales Director for TxPort in Huntsville, AL. Heath joined G2 in 1995 as Inside Sales & has worked effectively to direct & formulate G2’s corporate distribution & Inside Sales strategy. Heath assumed the role of Territory Director in 2001 for the Alabama market & has provided strong leadership to help grow this territory for G2.

Steve Doherty, VP/Partner: has over 21 years experience & knowledge of the electronics industry. Prior to joining G2, Steve served as the Regional Manager for NuHorizons Electronics in the Florida territory. Before joining NuHorizons, Steve was a Salesman with an OEM representative company in Tampa, FL. Steve began his career as an Inside Salesman for Time Electronics, being based out of Tampa, as well.
Steve has spent the bulk of his professional career based out of Tampa, FL with responsibilities for the majority of the accounts located throughout Florida at one time or another. Very few individuals have been directly involved in this market’s technology growth as Steve has. His depth of applicable experience as a manager & salesman, coupled with his network of contacts, provides an understanding of Florida as a market that is quite thorough & extensive.

Walter Addison, Georgia Territory Director: has over 20 years of experience & knowledge of the electronics industry. Prior to that, Walter worked for 17 years at Georgia Tech Research Institute with roles in design & project management. Walter also has experience as a Field Applications Engineer through his work with NuHorizons Electronics. Walter graduated from Georgia Tech with a Masters in Electrical Engineering. Walter’s strategic vision, knowledge of his accounts & sales skills have resulted in consistent major design wins at Cisco, Motorola, EchoStar & other accounts.
